ADA For Businesses
The City of Pico Rivera, in partnership with Bet Tzedek Legal Services, will be hosting a live webinar on Friday, June 26 beginning at 6:00 p.m. for local businesses to learn about compliance under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Topics to be covered include: Legal requirements employers must follow under ADA, California-specific ADA regulations, ADA Liability exposure for businesses and their owners, best practices for managing risk and exposure to ADA claims, and ADA resources for small business owners.

Fair Housing Workshop
Residents who rent housing in the City of Pico Rivera are invited to a “Virtual” Housing Rights Workshop on Wednesday, June 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. presented on Zoom.
Organized by the Housing Rights Center, this free workshop is designed to inform and educate community members on fair housing laws as well as how to recognize and prevent housing discrimination.
Other topics include COVID-19 Tenant Protections, New State Rent Control Laws, Fair Housing Laws, Landlord and Tenant Rights, and more.

Virtual Housing Community Workshop
The City will be hosting a community workshop to discuss the 2021-2029 Housing Element update. The workshop will be held Virtually on Thursday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m.
The workshop will provide the community with information about the Housing Element update, and to answer any questions regarding the update process. In addition, the City would like to gather input from residents, City leaders, and interested stakeholders on housing issues and concerns that should be addressed in the Housing Element update.
MEETING INFORMATION
The Housing Element is one component of the City’s General Plan, the City’s long-range plan for land use in the community. The Housing Element identifies housing specific needs in Pico Rivera and describes the approaches the City will take to facilitate meeting those needs.

Residential homeowners and solar panel installation contractors in Pico Rivera are now able to apply for permits online with the help of SolarAPP+, a web-based portal for residential solar energy system installations, developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to automate project plan reviews, receive automated permit, pay fees online, and schedule inspections.
