The American Legion Post 341 has been in the City of Pico Rivera for over 100 years. Founded in 1928 and officially chartered in 1930, the post not only serves Pico Rivera
Veterans, but Veterans from surrounding communities. The Post is housed in a building donated by the family of World War I Veteran Leland A. Cupp, which bears his name, located at 4909 Durfee Avenue.
The American Legion is supported by its Veteran membership as well as the Sons of American Legion, and an Auxiliary Unit that works hand and hand with the veterans supporting their families who use the post hall and kitchen for funeral receptions. The facility’s kitchen is a vital part of the community support provided by the Post. The kitchen is used for various functions including the preparation of holiday dinners for homeless veterans, and for use by local youth organizations for fundraising to help buy uniforms and equipment.
Lately, The Post’s kitchen has suffered expensive setbacks and the facility in whole has fallen on challenging times. The kitchen appliances which were donated over 40 years ago have outlived their service. The oven is unrepairable with many parts obsolete, and the commercial refrigerator also recently had to be scrapped. In addition, the Post facility roof is in need of immediate repair, which has been estimated at close to $30,000 of which 25% of that amount has been raised by the Post.
The Post’s Auxiliary, in an effort to assist the Post Legionnaires, are reaching out to Pico Rivera residents and local businesses to help by way of monetary or labor donations to assist with the much-needed repairs at the Post.

are also accepted at the Post, Wednesday through Sunday when the Post opens at 2:00 p.m.
